Vice-Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla
Chief of Naval Staff of Nigeria
Vice-Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla was appointed by President Bola Tinubu on 19 June 2023 as Chief of Naval Staff of Nigeria.
He was born on December 20, 1968 in Enugu Ezike, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State and obtained the West African School Certificate from the NMS Zaria in June, 1987 where he graduated as the ‘Best Boy’ in Sciences. He is a member of the 39 RC NDA, graduated with a BSc in Mathematics and was awarded Sword of Honour as the best naval cadet in his course.
He was commissioned S Lt on September 16, 1992 and rose to the rank of R Adm wef on September 16, 21. He completed the STC NNS QUORRA, Basic Hydrography National Hydrographic School India in May 2000, Junior and Senior Staff Courses AFCSC Jaji in Nov 01 and Jul 06 respectively.
He was also a participant of NDC Course 22 and was awarded fdc in Aug 14. As part of the Course, he took part in the MSc Strategic Studies programme, University of Ibadan from 2014 to 2015.
The senior officer served on board many ships including NNS AMBE, ARADU, LANA, EKUN, AGU, QUORRA, BEECROFT, DELTA and PATHFINDER. While on board NNS EKUN, he took part in the ECOMOG Operations in Liberia in 1996. Also as the Base operations officer in NNS PATHFINDER, he was responsible for coordinating anti-illegal bunkering operations as well as the entire policing duties of the base.
During the period there was a remarkable reduction in illegal activities in the maritime area within the base area of operations.
He also served as Instructor, CI and Comdt NNHS, SO 1 Survey and DD Instruments NNHO, ADCP, DD Hydro and DPR NHQ, as well as DS/ DARAS NDC and D Audit NASS NHQ. He is currently the DLL NHQ.
During his cumulative 6-year tour of duty in NNHS, he taught geodesy, datum conversion, tidal predictions and analysis, satellite surveying, and bathymetry, among others.
As Comdt, he linked the School with Teledyn Marines, a reputable OEM in the US, which enabled the NN to procure several survey equipment from the company, leading to improvements in practical training. He was also instrumental in the review of the School’s curriculum to align with IHO requirements. During his tour of duty in the NNHO, the senior officer was instrumental in the localisation of tidal prediction and analysis.
He participated in the FAO-sponsored Guinea Current Large Marine Ecosystem survey in 2004 and provided professional inputs during the survey and production of the NNHO charts.
During his tour of duty at the NDC, he contributed towards the improvement of the College research package and also led the 2018 participants’ research study tour to China and South Korea.
As DLL he was responsible for collating and analysing previous NN Operations and activities with the objective of drawing lessons necessary for doctrinal and operational improvements.
The Senior officer is decorated with FSS, MSS, DSS and GSS. He is a member of the Nigerian Hydrographic Society, the Nigerian Institute of Management, the International Earth Rotation Services and also a fellow of the Occupational Safety and Health Association of the UK.

An experienced LNG commercial professional with over 20 years of working experience in all functional areas of the commercial Natural Gas and LNG industry specifically in LNG contract administration, business development, portfolio management & optimization and risk management. He has held several senior and management positions in Sales/Contract Administration, Pricing and risk Management and Marketing & Business Development culminating in his present role as MD/CEO of Nigeria LNG Ship Management Ltd (NSML) – the Ship & Terminal Management subsidiary of Nigeria LNG Ltd.

Funke Agbor (SAN)
Senior Partner/Head of Shipping & Dispute Resolution Dentons ACAS-Law
Funke Agbor (SAN) is a Senior Partner and the head of the Shipping and Dispute Resolution Group of ACAS-Law. Funke holds an LLM from the University College London and was called to the Nigerian bar in 1982. In 2016, she was elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria. Her active participation in the development and formulation of policy in the Nigerian maritime industry has contributed to her acknowledgement as an authority in the industry. She serves as a resource person for the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies and the Annual Maritime Seminar for Judges for example.
Funke Agbor (SAN) has extensive experience in admiralty law, shipping & marine insurance law & litigation, shipping registration, cabotage registration & compliance, ship finance & securitization and international trade law & commercial arbitration. She specializes in maritime transactions including matters such as cargo loss and damage claims, collisions and other maritime casualties, and commercial litigation before trial and appellate courts all over Nigeria. In addition, she is a seasoned arbitration practitioner acting as counsel and as an arbitrator in a number of references.
She is a member of the International Bar Association and serves as the General Editor for the Nigerian Journal of Maritime Law.
She was a past President of the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA), Nigeria and is also the current president of the NIGERIA MARITIME LAW ASSOCIATION (NMLA)

Oluseyi OLUYEDE
Managing Director of the Niger-Benue Transport Company (NBTC) Limited
MRS OLUSEYI OLUYEDE was born on September 21, 1979.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration both from the Obafemi Awolowo University
(OAU) Ile Ife. She joined NBTC in October 2003 as a Technical Assistant (Economics) from where she rose to become General Manager, Corporate Strategy and Marketing, a position she held until her recent elevation as Managing Director of the Niger-Benue Transport Company (NBTC) Limited.

Mrs. Eunice EZEOKE

Mrs. Eunice EZEOKE is an Assistant General Manager, Tariff and Billing at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). In February 2020, she was elected the President of the Women International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) in Nigeria.
WISTA is a global organization connecting female executives and decision-makers around the world with its 54 country members, serving as a connector for its network of more than 3,800 female professionals from all sectors of the maritime industry. Since then she has continued to champion the cause of women and increasing more women participation at the ports.
Professor Iyiola ONI
Professor of Transportation Geography
Professor Iyiola Oni is a Professor of Transportation Geography. He attended the prestigious University of Ibadan, where he obtained B.Sc.
(Hons.) Degree in Geography. He proceeded to the University of Lagos for his postgraduate studies and obtained M.A. and Ph.D. Degrees in Geography with specialization in Transportation. He has since been lecturing and researching Transportation and Logistics Planning, Maritime Transportation Infrastructure and Spatial Planning related courses at the University of Lagos.
He is currently serving as the Director, Centre for Multimodal Transport Studies, University of Lagos. Prof. Oni has wide scientific knowledge of multimodal and regional transportation modelling. He has contributed on several occasions to fundamental issues relating to transportation and environmental policies and guidelines in Nigeria and other African countries. He is very active in the industry and public sector. He is a consultant to numerous international, federal, state and local agencies, as well as public and private organizations. Prof. Oni is a prolific writer, versatile academic and outstanding researcher and has to his credit over 90 academic publications in local and international learned journals. Prof. Oni is a Fellow, Chartered Institute of Transport and Logistics; Fellow, Nigerian Institute of Shipping (NIS); Fellow, Certified Institute
of Shipping and Fellow, Institute of Transport Administration (CIOTA).
Prof. Iyiola Oni is an erudite scholar, astute university administrator, seasoned professional and an academic per excellence. He is a winner of many scholarships, foreign fellowships and awards including the Institute of Atmospheric Research, Boulder, Colorado, USA in 2005.

Afloat, her first sea duty assignment was aboard USS MAKIN ISLAND (LHD 8) as RADAR technician and Leading Petty Officer. As Electronics Technician 1st Class Petty Officer, her next duty was aboard USS PONCE (AFSB (i) 15), where she served as Operations Electronics Division Assistant Leading Petty Officer. Upon earning her commission, she reported aboard USS CURTIS WILBUR (DDG 54) and served as First Lieutenant and the Damage Control Assistant.
Ashore, Electronics Technician 1st Class Petty Officer and Chief Petty Officer Pennel’s first shore duty was aboard NAS SIGONELLA as N3 Department Leading Petty Officer. As Electronics Technician Chief Petty Officer, her next duty was aboard CNE DET MAST, where she served as Communications Department Leading Chief Petty Officer. She is currently serving Naval Forces Europe/Africa in Naples, Italy.

Mohammed Bello-Koko is a Nigerian administrator, banker and the acting Managing Director of the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA).
He was born on 25th March 1969 in Koko-Besse Local Government area of Kebbi State.
Mohammed Bello-Koko obtained his SSCE certificate from the Federal Government College, Sokoto in 1986.
In 1992, he obtained a degree in Management Studies from the University of Sokoto. He further obtained a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto in 1995.
Mohammed Bello-Koko worked as an Executive Trainee-Banking Operations at the FSB International Bank Plc, Port Harcourt in 1996 before leaving in 2004.
In 2005, he joined Zenith Bank as the Manager-Team Head, Public Sector and Large Corporate. He subsequently was promoted to Senior Manager- Head Public.
He was the Assistant General Manager/Zonal Head in charge of Branches under Onne of Rivers/Bayelsa Zones.
Mohammed Bello-Koko became a member of the Zenith Bank Executive management team after he was promoted to the Deputy General Manager and Zonal Head.
In 2015, he was appointed the Executive Director Finance of the Nigerian Ports Authority by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari.
In May 2021, Mohammed Bello-Koko was appointed the acting Managing Director of the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA).
Mohammed Bello-Koko is married with children and he is a Muslim.
